Troubleshooting
Missing or weird glyphs
If a letter looks broken or absent
- Export preview shows missing letters: re-open your source sheet and ensure all boxes are clearly drawn.
- In Tracey, export quality may be blocked when too many warnings appear; fix flagged cells first.
- In app test document, compare the baseline and spacing of a few uppercase + lowercase examples.
- If the same letters are always broken, take another photo with more contrast and less blur.
Common causes
- The source character touched a neighboring box and clipped during tracing.
- The photo is too dark and the edge no longer reads as a full shape.
- The export was from an older version before you fixed all warnings.
What to compare in Tracey
- Original scan cell: confirms what was actually uploaded.
- Cleaned trace: shows whether template lines or low contrast entered the glyph.
- Preview text: shows whether spacing and baseline need adjustment before export.
