Troubleshooting
Font cache & missing font fixes
Use this page when a font does not appear even after install.
Quick checks first
- Make sure you are opening the font file you exported and not an older OTF copy.
- Close and reopen the app completely before re-checking the font list.
- If you use cloud sync, pause sync briefly while installing.
- Confirm that the font family name changed in Tracey if you expect a new style.
Windows cache reset (advanced but simple)
- Open Windows Services (search for Services in Start).
- Find Windows Font Cache Service, right-click, and stop it.
- Wait a few seconds, then start it again.
- Restart the app and test the font.
Mac recovery steps
- Restart the app that is using the font.
- Uninstall and reinstall the font once via Font Book.
- Sign out of your macOS account and back in, or restart your Mac if still missing.
App-specific follow-up
- Figma web users: install and enable the local font helper flow.
- Desktop apps: quit and relaunch after install.
- If one font is missing in a shared document, all team members need the same font installed.
When to stop
Stop troubleshooting once one fresh document can see the right family name and render a short test line correctly. Then reopen the real project file.
